Baseball: Lynch Earns Gold Glove Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Two members of the Norwich University baseball team were honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as the league's end of season awards were announced Tuesday afternoon.

Junior outfielder Kevin Lynch (Randolph, Mass.) was named to the Gold Glove team while fellow junior Mike Lesco (Somers, Conn.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

In 25 games this season Lynch posted a fielding percentage of .983, spending the majority of his time in center field. He recorded 53 putouts on 58 total chances with 4 assists and just one error. This marks the third award for Lynch, who earned Third Team All-Conference honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.

As a team Norwich committed just 44 errors in 30 games, the fewest in the conference and finished fourth in the league with a .952 team fielding percentage.

The Cadets also earned the Institutional Sportsmanship Award for the fourth time in five years.
