Men's Basketball: Jerrold Williams Earns All-GNAC Honors For Second Straight Season

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - For the second consecutive season, Norwich University men's basketball player Jerrold Williams earned All-GNAC accolades as the senior guard was selected to the conference's third team, it was announced by the league on Wednesday.

Williams led the Cadets, and ranked 12th in the conference in scoring with a 15.0 ppg., average. The Norwalk, Conn., product scored in double-figures 17 times this year, including seven 20-point games. Williams netted a career-high 34 points against FDU-Florham in the second game of the season.

Williams paced the team, and ranked 10th in the GNAC with 44 three-pointers this season. He also ranked second on the club in steals (48), and third on the squad in assists (54). One of the most accurate free throw shooters in the league, Williams led the team, and listed ninth in the GNAC with his 72.0 shooting percentage from the charity stripe.

A second team all-league pick last season, Williams finished his standout Norwich career with 1,312 points.

Norwich wrapped up its 2007-08 season on Tuesday, Feb. 26, when the Cadets bowed out of the GNAC Tournament following a 78-66 loss to Lasell in the conference quarterfinals. NU finished the season with a 12-13 record, including an 8-10 mark in league games. The Cadets finished seventh in the conference standings.
