Men’s hockey banquet scheduled for April 1, Women April 4

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University men's and women's ice hockey teams will hold their annual end-of-season banquets on Saturday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 4 respectively. 

Player awards will be presented, senior athletes will be recognized, and the teams will be honored for their outstanding seasons. To register to attend either banquet, sponsor a player meal, or sponsor the event visit the following link: https://alumni.norwich.edu/hockeybanquets 

Tickets are $25 to both and you can sponsor a player's meal for $25 as well. The pre-registration deadline for the banquets will be Friday, March 31 at 4 p.m. (Note - Children under 12 are free for the men's banquet.) 

Men's Banquet: Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 12 PM in Kreitzberg Arena

Come out and honor the 2017 NCAA DIII Hockey National Champions! The team finished with a 27-1-3 and won the national title in Utica, NY with a 4-1 victory over Trinity. The Cadets recaptured the NEHC regular season title with a 16-1-1 conference record and a NEHC Tournament Championship with a 4-1 victory over New England College in front of a packed house in Kreitzberg Arena. 

The large group of seniors that lead the team were captains Tyler Piacentini, Austin Surowiec, and Will Pelletier. Other senior leaders on Coach Mike McShane's team include Dmitry Ermakov, Anthony Flaherty, Nick Pichette, Ty Reichenbach, Brian Rowland, Paul Russell, and Cody Smith

Women's Banquet: Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Steak House in Barre, VT
Arrive at 6:15 PM, Meal at 6:45 PM   

The Norwich women's hockey team had an amazing 2016-17 season. The Cadets finished fourth place nationally with a 23-7-1 record and captured the NEHC Tournament Championship on home ice with a resounding 5-0 win over Manhattanville. The defining moment of the season was a thrilling 5-4 double-overtime victory over in-state rival Middlebury to advance to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four. The event will honor seniors Adelle Murphy and Celeste Robert and the rest of Coach Mark Bolding's team.
