Men's Lacrosse: Norwich Thumps Lyndon State, 15-2
NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Kyle Marzeoti scored a game-high five goals, and Patrick Sikora and Tyler Nicoll each added three goals apiece as the Norwich University men's lacrosse team beat up Lyndon State, 15-2, on Monday afternoon.
The Cadets (2-5) scored three goals in the first quarter and four more in the second to take a commanding 7-0 lead into halftime. NU poured it on in the third quarter, seven more unanswered goals to push its lead to 14-0 after 45 minutes of play.
Norwich led 15-0 midway through the fourth quarter before Lyndon State (1-7) finally scored at the 6:17 mark.
Nathan Proctor (2-0) got the victory for Norwich in goal, as he turned away nine of the 11 shots that he faced.
The Cadets outshot the Hornets, 38-24. NU won 14-of-18 faceoffs in the game.
Norwich resumes its Pilgrim League slate on Wednesday, April 13, when the Cadets host MIT at Howard Field. The conference contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
