BOSTON—Junior goaltender Mark Paradiso (Westford, Mass.) of the Norwich University men's lacrosse team has been named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon. It marks the second time this season that Paradiso has earned the weekly honor.
Paradiso totaled 17 saves in a 2-0 week for Cadets en route to his fifth-straight win in net. He posted a .607 save percentage on the week and stopped 64.7 percent of the 17 shots he faced against Mt. Ida College. Paradiso recorded a 5.50 goals-against average and added two ground balls and a caused turnover on the week.
The junior goaltender has aided the Cadets to a flawless 5-0 record in league play in 2013 by stopping a league-leading 63.2 percent of the 117 shots he has faced this season. Paradiso has also allowed the fewest goals of any GNAC goaltender (43) and boasts a league-best 6.37 goals-allowed average.
The Cadets (5-3, 5-0 GNAC) will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to take on Emerson College in GNAC action at 6:00 p.m.
