Norwich Blanks Castleton State, 4-0

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Junior forward Rob Harlow scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Norwich men's soccer team past Castleton State, 4-0, Sunday afternoon in the Cadets' season opener at Howard Field.
Norwich (1-0-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead within the first 17 minutes of the contest and never looked back en route to the convincing victory.
Harlow got the Cadets on the board first, scoring on a deflection at the 4:46 mark of the first half. Less than five minutes later, the talented junior assisted on classmate Drew Dilley's goal, giving Norwich a 2-0 advantage at the 9:31 mark.
At the 16:02 mark, Harlow scored his second goal, burying a rebound opportunity into the back of the net to give Norwich a commanding 3-0 lead.
Jake Yaris added an insurance marker in the second half, taking a pass from Harlow and scoring at the 74:24 mark.
Jake Pagragan made six saves in goal for Norwich to earn the shutout victory. The Cadets outshot Castleton State, 23-12. Norwich also led in corner kicks, 7-2.
The Norwich men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 4, when the Cadets travel to Plattsburgh, N.Y., to take on Plattsburgh State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
