Norwich Gets Back On Track With 3-2 Victory Over Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Jake Yaris scored the game-winning goal with 22 seconds to play as the Norwich men's soccer team defeated Johnson & Wales, 3-2, in a GNAC match Saturday afternoon. The Cadets, who have won nine of their last 10 games, improve to 10-2-0 (5-0-0 GNAC).
NU held a 2-0 lead late in the second half, but Johnson & Wales tied the score with two goals in the final 15 minutes of play. Just when it appeared as though the contest would move into an overtime period, Yaris tallied the game winner off an assist from Rob Harlow.
Drew Dilley opened the scoring for Norwich in the first half, finding the back of the net after being set up by Harlow. Emmanuel Motaze extended the Cadets' advantage to 2-0 later on, taking a pass from Ryan Boyton and drilling the ball into the goal.
Norwich will continue its three-game road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 10, when the Cadets travel to Newton Centre, Mass., for a GNAC game opposite Mount Ida. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
