Norwich Ties Mount Ida, 1-1

NEWTON CENTRE, Mass. - Rob Harlow scored a goal and Jake Pagragan made eight saves in goal as the Norwich men's soccer team tied Mount Ida in double overtime, 1-1, in a GNAC contest played Wednesday evening. The Cadets are now 10-2-1 (5-0-1 GNAC).
Both teams had several scoring opportunities throughout the game, but neither one was able to find the back of the net until Harlow took a feed from Ryan Boyton and put Norwich on top, 1-0, in the 88th minute. Mount Ida (7-4-2, 3-2-1 GNAC) came right back, though, as Greg Hagan scored off an assist from Brandon Chuba in the 89th minute to force overtime.
Mount Ida goalkeeper Brian Leighton kept the Mustangs in the game all day long, turning away 16 shots, including three in the first overtime session. NU outshot Mount Ida, 32-23, and the Cadets held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Drew Dilley was in the middle of the action all night for Norwich, firing eight shots on goal.
Norwich will conclude its three-game road trip on Saturday, Oct. 13, when the Cadets travel to Nashua, N.H., to battle Daniel Webster in a GNAC match.
