Men's Soccer: Norwich Draws Clark In NCAA Tournament

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's soccer team will continue its season on Saturday, Nov. 15, when the Cadets travel to Middlebury, Vt., to take on Clark University in the first round of the NCAA Championship.

Kickoff time for the first round game has not been determined at this time.

A free video webcast of Saturday's game will be available on www.d3cast.com.

The Cadets (17-2-1) clinched their spot in the NCAA tourney by winning the 2008 GNAC Tournament championship on Saturday. Should Norwich defeat Clark and advance in the event, the Cadets would face the winner of the Middlebury-Framingham State game on Sunday.

"We are very excited about the draw for the weekend," said Norwich head coach Kyle Dezotell. "We are happy that we do not have a midweek game, and that we have a couple of extra days to prepare for the Clark match on Saturday.

"It is nice to be close to home and not have to travel too far away. We are familiar with the field at Middlebury, since we've already played there this season.

"Lastly, as happy and thrilled as we all were on Saturday after winning the GNAC title, the players and staff fully believe we can win on Saturday, and again on Sunday. We are not there just to make up the numbers, we intend on competing for the national championship."
