Men's Soccer: Chris Rivet Named To ECAC All-New England Team

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - After capping his remarkable four-year career as the Cadets' all-time leader in assists, Norwich University men's soccer player Chris Rivet was named to the ECAC All-New England second team, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The senior from Harrisville, R.I., who was a first-team All-GNAC selection this fall, led the team with six assists and ended his illustrious career with 29 helpers to tie the program's all-time mark set by Ryan Boyton last year.

Rivet also listed tied for fourth on the club with five goals, and ranked second on the team with 16 points.

"Chris is very deserving of this honor," said Norwich head coach Kyle Dezotell. "He had been our unsung hero over the past three seasons. He has played nearly every minute as part of one of the best defenses in New England. This year, with our huge loss of five All-New England players, including two defenders to graduation, Chris was immense for us and in my opinion was the best defender in the league and certainly one of the best in the region. For him to own a share of our all-time assists record is very impressive, considering he played in the back his entire career."
