WALTHAM, Mass. – The Norwich University men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out the first semester with a dual meet at Bentley University on Saturday.
The Falcons swept the Cadets with a 176-105 win in men's action and a 168-76 result on the women's side.
Freshman Michael Pierce (Lutherville-Timonium, Md.) won the 100 yard freestyle in 49.47 and the 500 yard freestyle in 4:48.90 to continue his stellar freshman campaign.
The team of sophomore Austen Greene (Herndon, Va.), junior Dylan Henderson (Commerce Township, Mich.), sophomore Alex DiGiacomo (Norfolk, Mass.) and sophomore Harrison Brock (Alexandria, Va.) claimed second in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:45.17 while freshman Joseph Clark (Acworth, Ga.) also took second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.58 and the 100 yard backstroke in 59.60. DiGiacomo placed second in the 50 yard freestyle in 22.97 as well.
Senior Chris Danieli (Chelmsford, Mass.) took second in the 1 meter diving competition with a score of 192.85 with freshman Cameron Ferriera (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) claimed second in the 100 yard breast stroke in 1:07.72.
Greene also took third in the 50 yard backstroke in 28.30 while junior Matt Clark (Acworth, Ga.) claimed third in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:58.29.
Sophomore Elaine Dudley (North Waterboro, Maine) placed third in the 50 yard breaststroke (36.81), the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.63) and the 400 yard IM (5:06.81).
Sophomore Abby Weber (Snoqualmie, Wash.) took third in the one meter diving competition with 162.45 points.
The Cadets are next in action on January 13th, when they host Elms at Goodyear Pool. That dual meet is set for 12:00p.m.
