Swimming & Diving: Cadet Men Break School Record at NEISDA's

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Norwich University men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in day one of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships, hosted by Regis (Mass.) on Thursday evening.

The Norwich men sit fourth out of nine teams with 30 points while the women's side did not register an official point on the evening.

The only event held on Thursday was the 800-meter freestyle relay and the NU men's side of junior Matt Clark (Acworth, Ga.), sophomore Will Micali (Brentwood, N.H.), freshman Sam Carlson (Dedham, Maine) and freshman Joseph Clark (Acworth, Ga.) set a new school record of 7:15.64 en route to a fourth-place finish. The new time broke a team record set in 2008.

The Cadet women did not compete in the event.

Friday's preliminary events begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m.
