NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University tennis team placed four of its members on the all-league team, it was announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference last weekend.

Junior standout Peter Hooper led the quartet of Cadets, as the team's No. 1 singles player was named the conference's "Player of the Year", and was also tabbed a first-team all-league pick. The Spartanburg, S.C., native blew away the competition all season long en route to authoring an unblemished 12-0 mark at No. 1 singles. Hooper was nearly as dominant in doubles action, posting an 11-1 record at first doubles.

Three other NU players were selected the GNAC's second-team, as Matt Sanford, Chris Pashley and Travis Tyler were all recognized for their solid seasons.

Sanford, Norwich's No. 2 singles player, posted a 7-4 singles record and an 8-3 doubles mark. Pashley, who competed at third singles this season, compiled a 5-7 mark in singles and a 6-6 record in doubles. Tyler, NU's No. 4 singles player, went 5-7 in singles and 9-3 in doubles.
