Norwich Places Runner-Up At Rivier Invitational

NASHUA, N.H. - Zach Charney, John Guarnieri and Greg Matthews each placed within the Top 10 to lead the Norwich men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Rivier Invitational on Friday. The Cadets amassed 62 points, and placed just behind St. Anselm (59 points) for the team title.

Charney led the NU contingent, placing seventh overall with a clocking of 29 minutes, 30 seconds. Guarnieri finished just behind Charney, taking eighth with time of 30:02. Matthews finished 10th with a clocking of 30:21.

Brendan Thompson (30:46) and Matt Wagner (31:19) rounded out Norwich's Top 5, placing 16th and 22nd, respectively.

The Norwich men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29, when the Cadets travel to Lyndonville, Vt., to participate in the Vermont State Meet.
