NU Places Third At Vermont State Meet

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - John Pomeroy finished 11th overall, and four other Cadets placed within the Top 27 to lead the Norwich men's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Vermont State Meet on Saturday.

Pomeroy toured the 8,000-meter course in 30:23 to lead all NU runners to the finish line. John Guarnieri was the second Cadet to complete the race, placing 20th overall with a clocking of 31:47.

Brendan Thompson (32:05), Zach Charney (32:21) and Matt Wagner (32:27) rounded out Norwich's Top 5, placing 22nd, 26th and 27th, respectively.

The Norwich men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Cadets travel to Westfield, Mass., to participate in the Westfield State Meet.
