Men's Cross Country: Cadets Place 30th At NCAA Regionals

GORHAM, Maine - Senior team co-captain John Pomeroy placed 139th overall, and juinor team co-captain Michael Monagham finished 166th to help lead the Norwich University men's cross country team to a 30th-place showing at the NCAA Regionals on Saturday. The Cadets accrued up 890 points to finish near the middle of the 48-team field.

Pomeroy completed the 8,000-meter course in a clocking of 28 minutes, 2.9 seconds to lead the Cadets to the finish line. Monagham followed closely behind, finishing in a time of 28:26.5.

Freshman Joseph Rosenthal (28:44.9), junior Michael Christopher (29:01.4) and freshman Richard Well (29:28.2)  was the next NU harrier to finish the race, recording a time of 29:36.10 to place 15th overall.

Junior team co-captain Michael Monaghan (29:36.10) finished 17th, while junior Michael Christopher (29:52.83) rounded out NU's Top 5, finishing 178th, 196th and 211th, respectively.

Williams (53 points) placed five runners in the Top 15 to win the team title. Amherst (104 points) and Keene State (132) finished second and third, respectively.
