Softball: Two Norwich Players Named All-GNAC

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Two members of the Norwich University softball team were recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as Codi Collins and Whitney Grennon were named to the all-league team.
Collins, who was selected to the all-conference first team, led the club in batting with a .486 average. She also paced the team with 51 hits, while listing among the team leaders in runs scored (39), runs batted in (25), home runs (two), doubles (three) and triples (three).
Collins, who hails from nearby Waterbury, Vt., authored a gaudy .629 slugging percentage, and recorded a .534 on-base percentage this spring.
Grennon, meanwhile, was named to the all-league second team. A sophomore from Franklin, Vt., Grennon produced some incredible power numbers this season, blasting a team-best eight home runs and driving in a team-high 38 runs.
She also led the team with five triples, 45 runs scored and a whopping .759 slugging percentage. Grennon also tied for third on the squad with six doubles.
Norwich went 17-17 overall this season, and 13-13 in GNAC play. The Cadets just missed out on the postseason as they placed ninth in the conference standings.
