Softball: Jackie Donahue Tabbed GNAC “Rookie of the Week”

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - After helping the softball team to a perfect 8-0 week, Norwich University freshman Jackie Donahue was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) "Rookie of the Week."

Donahue, a native of Northfield, Vt., went 16-for-25 at the plate for an impressive batting average of .640. She knocked in 19 runs and belted 5 home runs. Donahue also recorded four doubles while posting a 1.480 slugging percentage.

For the season, Donahue, who splits time at first and third base, has posted a .419 BA and is second on the team with eight home runs. She has also batted in 37 runs in 26 games.

Norwich (18-16) returns to action on Wednesday, April 22 when the Cadets play host to the Simmons College Sharks in a first round matchup of the GNAC Tournament at 4 p.m.
