Women's Basketball: Christine Daniels Tabbed GNAC "Rookie Of The Week"

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - For the second straight week, and third time this season, Norwich freshman forward Christine Daniels was named the GNAC women's basketball "Rookie of the Week" on Tuesday after the first-year player produced a pair of strong performances last week.

Daniels, who hails from Concord, N.H., scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds in NU's 76-48 win at St. Joseph's (Conn.) last Tuesday, before netting five points and snaring 10 rebounds in the Cadets' 67-52 victory over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

For the season, Daniels leads the team in rebounding (7.4 rpg.) and ranks fifth among all Norwich players in scoring (7.4 ppg.). The first-year forward also ranks tied for third on the club in steals with 14.

Norwich (4-11, 3-1 GNAC) returns to the friendly confines of Andrews Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 23, when the Cadets take on Mount Ida in a GNAC game. Action is scheduled to get under way at 7 p.m.
