Women's Basketball: Christine Daniels Named GNAC "Rookie Of The Week"

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - For the fourth time this season, Norwich University freshman forward Christine Daniels was named the GNAC women's basketball "Rookie of the Week" on Tuesday after the first-year player helped lead the Cadets to a 2-0 week.
Daniels scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in Norwich's win over Rivier on Thursday, before scoring 19 points and tearing down nine rebounds in the Cadets' victory over Simmons in the team's regular season finale.
Daniels led all Norwich scorers last week with 15.5 ppg. She also added 7.0 rpg., and 3.5 spg., last week.
For the season, Daniels ranks third on the team, and 18th in the GNAC, in rebounding (6.8 rpg.) and ranks fifth among all Norwich players in scoring (7.5 ppg.). She also ranks second on the team with 25 steals.
Winners of six straight games, Norwich (11-13) enters this week's GNAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Cadets begin their quest for the conference title on Tuesday, Feb. 26, when they welcome sixth-seeded St. Joseph's (Maine) to Andrews Hall for a quarterfinal matchup. Gametime is slated for 7 p.m.
