Women's Basketball: Bridgewater State Holds Off Norwich, 69-57

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Colleen Feeney recorded game-highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Bridgewater State past Norwich, 69-57, in a women's basketball game Saturday afternoon. The Cadets, who fall to 0-2 on the young season, were led by Ally Daniels, who scored a team-high 15 points.
Daniels netted nine of her 15 markers in the first half as the Cadets trailed Bridgewater State (1-1) by the score of 27-25 at halftime.
BSC outscored Norwich, 42-32, in the second stanza to secure the victory. For the second straight game, turnovers plagued the Cadets, as they committed 18 miscues in the contest. Norwich shot just 33.8 percent from the field for the game, and the Cadets hit just 4-of-16 three-pointers.
Natalie Marchese added 13 points for NU, while Kayleigh Shappy, Laural McWilliams and Christine Daniels each chipped in with six points apiece. McWilliams added a team-high 10 rebounds as well.
Norwich will open its 2007-08 home schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when the Cadets host Middlebury at Andrews Hall. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
