Women's Basketball: King's College Defeats Norwich, 79-61

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Kaitlyn Fiorino knocked down eight three-pointers en route to a game-high 31 points, and Jenna Palumbo chipped in 13 points to lead King's College past Norwich, 79-61, in a women's basketball game played Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Lady Monarch Invitational.

King's College (6-7) scored the first five points of the game and never trailed. The Lady Monarchs led, 20-10, midway through the first half, and extended its lead to 46-23 at halftime.

King's College led by as many as 29 points in the second half, and Norwich got no closer than 18 points during the stanza.

Erica Rate led Norwich (1-9) with 14 points, while Ally Daniels added 13 points. Jess Jaggars contributed 12 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Daniels, who averaged 13.0 ppg., during the two-day tournament was named to the Lady Monarch Invitational All Tournament Team.

Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 8, when the Cadets travel to Castleton, Vt., to battle in-state rival Castleton State. Gametime is slated for 7 p.m.
