Women's Basketball: Salve Regina Trips Norwich, 61-47

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Allison Moen led a trio of players in double figures with 19 points as Salve Regina downed Norwich, 61-47, in women's basketball action Friday night. Moen also pulled down 17 rebounds, as Salve Regina outrebounded NU by a 56-39 margin.

Norwich (0-1) was led by junior co-captain Kayleigh Shappy, who scored a team-high 13 points on 3-of-16 shooting. Freshman Christine Daniels chipped in with 10 points, while sophomore Erica Rate added eight points.

The Cadets were held to 18.1 percent shooting in the first half, and trailed 29-19 at the break. NU only shot 26.1 percent for the game. Norwich also turned the ball over 20 times on the night.

NU returns to the hardwood on Saturday, Nov. 17, when the Cadets take on Bridgewater State on the second day of the Bridgewater State Tournament. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m.
