Women's Ice Hockey: Cindy Fortin Named ECAC "Goalie Of The Week"
Dec 11, 2007

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - After earning her second career shutout, and leading the Norwich women's hockey team to a 1-0 victory over Connecticut College last Sunday, NU freshman goaltender Cindy Fortin was selected as the ECAC "Goalie of the Week" on Wednesday.
The first-year goaltender from Quebec City, Que., turned away all 44 shots that she faced versus Connecticut College, and Katie Leupp netted the game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation time to propel Norwich to the victory.
Fortin backstopped the Cadets' penalty kill unit, which stymied the Camels' power play 11 times.
Norwich (3-2-1, 1-2-1 ECAC East) is idle until Jan. 4-5, when the Cadets travel to Colchester, Vt., to compete in the St. Michael's Tournament.
