Women's Lacrosse: Hennessy Selected As GNAC "Player Of The Week"

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Norwich University women's lacrosse sophomore Kathleen Hennessy became the third Cadet to earn a GNAC weekly honor this spring as the second-year midfielder was tabbed the conference's team "Player of the Week" on Tuesday.
Hennessy scored 10 goals and added one assist in two games last week, as the Cadets went 2-0 and extended their win streak to six straight.
The Essex Junction, Vt., native began her week by scoring two goals in NU's 14-1 win over in-state rival Green Mountain College on Thursday. Then, on Saturday, Hennessy exploded for eight goals and one assist as the Cadets defeated GNAC foe Lasell, 19-12. The eight goals marked the most scored by a Cadet in a game this season.
For the season, Hennessy ranks second on the team in goals (21), assists (seven) and points (28).
Norwich (6-1, 2-0 GNAC) will put its six-game win streak on the line this Thursday (April 10), when the Cadets travel to Rindge, N.H., to take on Division II foe Franklin Pierce. Gametime is set for 6 p.m.
