Women's Lacrosse: Norwich Blasts American International College, 19-9

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Ally Daniels netted five goals and handed out three assists to lead the Norwich University women's lacrosse team to a convincing 19-9 victory over American International College on Saturday afternoon.
The victory was the first of the 2008 season for the Cadets, who improve to 1-1. AIC, meanwhile, falls to 0-5.
Norwich held a slim 7-5 lead at the end of the first half, but the Cadets outscored the Yellow Jackets by a 12-4 margin in the second stanza en route to the win.
Kathleen Hennessy added three goals and two assists for the Cadets, while Chelsea Martin and Ashley Haviland each chipped three goals as well. Jessica Allmer contributed two goals, while Alyssa Nicoloro, Katie Magnus and Allyson Allen each scored one apiece.
American International was led by Caitlin Mooney, who scored a game-high six goals and dished out one assist.
Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, March 25, when the Cadets face Assumption in its third straight road game. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
