BOSTON - Second-seeded Norwich University scored the first five goals of the second half to rally from a two goal halftime deficit and defeat top seeded Emerson College 10-8 in the first ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship Game.

The first half was a see-saw battle as Emerson (13-4) opened the scoring on an unassisted goal by Jess Kalikow 7:06 into the game. The Cadets answered with the next three goals over the next 4:07 on unassisted markers by Ally Daniels, Ashley Haviland and Kathleen Hennessey. Kalikow pulled the Lions to within one, and Laura Miles scored the first of her two goals to even up the score.

Kristi Walles gave the Lions the lead at the 16:35 mark on an assist by Kalikow, but Daniels knotted the score just over seven minutes later, before Jessica Allmer gave the Cadets a 5-4 lead on a free position shot.

Emerson scored the final three goals of the first half to take a 7-5 lead into the intermission.

Norwich (11-4) dominated the second half scoring the first goal of the stanza on a free position shot by Haviland just 1:20 into the half. Daniels then scored unassisted, and on a free position shot to give Norwich an 8-7 lead. Goals by Hennessey on an assist by Daniels, and Haviland on a free position shot gave the Cadets a 10-7 lead with 12:57 remaining. Miley brought Emerson to within a pair on an unassisted tally with 6:38 left, but the Lions could pull no closer.
