WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Jessica Allmer scored five goals, and six other Cadets scored as the Norwich University women's lacrosse team defeated St. Joseph (Conn.), 12-1, in the team's GNAC opener on Sunday afternoon.

The Cadets, who have won four straight games, improve to 4-1 (1-0 GNAC).

Chelsea Martin added two goals and one assist, while Ally Daniels chipped in one goal and three assists. Ashley Haviland, Allyson Allen, Kathleen Hennessy and Kelly Bush also scored for NU.

Kellie Pickel and Erin McGaffigan split time in the Norwich goal, with each goalie playing one half. Pickel made two saves in the opening 30 minutes, while McGaffigan stopped four shots in the second stanza.

Norwich returns to action on Thursday, April 3, when the Cadets host Green Mountain College at 4 p.m.
