BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Norwich wrestling team won the consolation championship at the New England Duals at Bridgewater State College. The Cadets defeated Plymouth State, 39-11, in the consolation championship match, in which Norwich wrestlers recorded five falls.

Norwich qualified for the consolation championship by holding off MIT, 23-22, in the third round. NU's Cody Lightfoot (285) posted an 11-5 win in the final bout to lift the Cadets to the victory over the Engineers. Lightfoot went 2-1 on the day.

Other notable performances included Dave Olds (157), who went 2-0 on the day with two pins, and Jake Rivers (149), who went 2-1 with one pin and one tech fall.

Norwich will return to the mat on Saturday, January 27 with a quad meet at Plymouth State starting at 12 p.m.
