Wrestling: Norwich Falls To Williams, 35-6
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Norwich University wrestling team lost a 35-6 decision to No. 23 Williams on Wednesday night, as the Cadets fall to 2-1 on the young season. NU, who entered the match ranked ninth in New England, put forth a strong effort in defeat. The Ephs, who were ranked second in New England, were just too much to handle.
The match began at 165 pounds, and Williams jumped all over Norwich, winning the first five bouts to gain a 15-0 lead at the midway point. Jake Kirk-Elkin got Norwich on the board with a 5-2 decision over Jim Bierman at heavyweight. Brian Zane accounted for NU's only other victory, securing a 5-2 win at 133 pounds.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 8, when the Cadets host 24th-ranked Springfield College at Plumley Armory at 1 p.m.
