Women's Rugby: Norwich Rocks Rutgers, 34-10

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Norwich women's rugby team earned a spot in the Northeast championship after defeating Rutgers 34-10 on Saturday.
Senior fullback Sybil Taunton and junior wing Ashley de Grasse scored two tries apiece, while senior flanker Charmaine Morris and freshman center Elise Fournier each added one of their own. Sophomore wing Clarissa Wynn converted two of the tries to finalize the score.
"It was a great opportunity for us to play Rutgers and learn from their distinct pattern of play," said NU head coach Austin Hall. "They maintained excellent possession of the ball and utilized their strength against us. We were a little flat today, but our pride and love for the game will carry us tomorrow. It's our last chance of the fall season to play the beautiful match we have been envisioning."
Norwich (14-0) will have rematch with New Hampshire (8-1) on Sunday at 11 a.m., with the winner advancing to the USA Rugby Elite-8, which is held in the spring.
