Nicki Hunsicker Picks Up GNAC "Goalie Of The Week" Honors

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - For the second straight week, Norwich women's soccer player Nicki Hunsicker was tabbed as the GNAC "Goalie of the Week" following a pair of strong performances. It marks the second straight week that Hunsicker has earned the conference honor.

A freshman from Emmaus, Pa., Hunsicker made five saves in NU's 3-0 blanking of Mount Ida on Wednesday to earn her third shutout of the season. On Saturday, Hunsicker turned away four shots and picked up the victory in the Cadets' 2-1 overtime triumph over Simmons.

For the week, Hunsicker made nine saves and posted a stingy 0.62 goals-against average. She has played in eight matches for the Cadets so far this season, receiving five starts. She shows a 4-1-0 overall record with a sterling 0.70 goals-against average.

Norwich (8-2-0, 6-0-0 GNAC) will look to win its eighth straight game on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when the Cadets travel to Boston to take on Emmanuel (7-2-1, 6-0-0 GNAC). Kickoff for the GNAC showdown is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
