Women's Soccer: Szczepanski And Magnus Earn All-GNAC Honors

Nov 3, 2007

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - After helping the Norwich women's soccer team to an impressive 13-5-1 record, Nikki Szczepanski and Katie Magnus were honored by the GNAC as each player was named to the all-conference team.

Szczepanski, who led NU in goals (nine), assists (six) and points (24), was named to the second team. The freshman from Auburn, N.Y., stepped up her play in league action, tallying eight of her nine goals against conference foes.

Magnus, meanwhile, was a part of the Norwich defense that produced nine shutouts in 2007. The senior, who hails from nearby Waterbury, Vt., appeared in 17 games for the Cadets. She registered one goal and one assist on the year.

Norwich, which lost a 3-2 overtime decision to Emmanuel in the GNAC semifinals last Tuesday, is hopefully that it will receive a bid to the ECAC Tournament.
