Emerson Shuts Out Norwich, 2-0

BOSTON - The Norwich women's soccer team lost for just the second time in its last 11 games on Wednesday evening, dropping a 2-0 decision at GNAC opponent Emerson. The Cadets fall to 10-4-0 (8-2-0 GNAC), while the Lions improve to 10-2-2 (9-1-0 GNAC).
Emerson jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute as Rachel Lerma scored an unassisted goal. The Lions added an insurance tally in the 38th minute as Tamara Kearney scored an unassisted goal.
Nicki Hunsicker went the distance in the Norwich goal, turning away nine shots.
Emerson outshot Norwich, 19-5, and the Lions held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Norwich women's soccer team returns home to the friendly confines of Howard Field on Saturday, Oct. 13, when the Cadets host GNAC foe Johnson & Wales at 1 p.m.
