NU Defeats Lyndon State, 5-1

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Dawn McNulty and Karissa Doyon each scored two goals apiece as the Norwich women's soccer team defeated Lyndon State, 5-1, Sunday afternoon at Howard Field. Having won its last three matches, NU improves to 4-2 on the season.

McNulty opened the scoring in the fourth minute, netting an unassisted goal. Lauren Paceli made it 2-0 in favor of Norwich at the 30:37 mark with an unassisted tally of her own.

Doyon doubled the Cadets' lead early in the second half, scoring two goals in a span of 1:05. The freshman converted a feed from Nikki Szczepanski at the 50:45 mark, before scoring off a corner kick at the 51:50 mark.

McNulty closed out the scoring for NU less than three minutes later in the 55th minute.

Norwich held a commanding 32-4 edge in shots, while dominating the corner kicks, 11-0.

NU returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 19, when the Cadets travel to Newton, Mass., for a GNAC contest versus Lasell. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
