Sep 2, 2007

POTSDAM, N.Y. - Freshman goalkeeper Alecia Wright made 10 saves, but it was not enough as the Norwich women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to St. Lawrence on Sunday, falling to 1-1-0 on the young season.

St. Lawrence dominated the game, outshooting Norwich, 20-2, while holding a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.

Although she allowed two  goals and was saddled with the loss, Wright made several tough saves as the rookie kept the Cadets close.

Karissa Doyon and Dawn McNulty registered shots for Norwich. The Cadets were playing two games in two days, after knocking of Clarkson, 1-0, yesterday.

Nicki Hunsicker and Caitlin Wohlschlegel were named to the All-Tournament team following their impressive performances in the two-day tourney.

Norwich returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when the Cadets travel to Castleton, Vt., to take on Castleton State. The contest is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
