NORTHFIELD, Vt. –  The Norwich University women's soccer team's 2017 Senior Day was spoiled by Albertus Magnus in a 2-0 defeat to the Falcons on Saturday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Norwich (2-12, 1-10-0 GNAC) got seven saves from freshman goalkeeper Katie Bishop-Manning (New York, N.Y.), but it wasn't enough as Albertus Magnus scored twice in the first half to cruise to the 2-0 victory.

Amanda Montano scored both goals for Albertus Magnus with assists from Sophia Austin and Alexya Alves in the 19th and 23rd minute respectively.

Montano scored her first of the night and fourth of the season after a long through ball over the top by Austin. Montano ran in down and rifled a shot into the right corner of the net to make it 1-0 Falcons.

She added to the lead a little over five minutes later with her fifth of the year off a perfect crossing pass from the right by Alves. Montano tapped the ball into a wide open left side of the net to make it 2-0.

Albertus Magnus outshot Norwich 23-9. Lexie Fenn made two saves for Albertus Magnus to pick up the shutout.

Norwich closes the 2017 season on Tuesday when it hosts Lyndon State at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
