Women's Swimming & Diving: Cadets Remain 18th After Day Two At New England Championships
DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Anne Marie Vayda finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 9.53 seconds as the Norwich University women's swimming and diving team remained in 18th place after the second day of competition at the New England Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday.
Vayda's fifth-place finish generated 18 points for the Cadets. With 51 team points, Norwich is 18th out of 22 teams. Keene State leads the way with 649 points, followed by Bentley (563 points) and Saint Michael's (383).
Elsewhere, the Cadets' 200-yard medley relay team placed 15th with a clocking of 2:04.89 to pick up eight team points. Finally, Norwich's 800-yard freestyle relay quartet of Felicia Jones, Janice Knoop, Dana Wanjon and Molly Patterson took 17th (9:24.69) to earn four team points.
Norwich will wrap up competition at the New England Swimming & Diving Championships on Sunday, Feb. 22, with the action lasting all day.
