OFFICIAL CSCAA RELEASE

Norfolk, Va. – The Norwich University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams earned College Swimming & Diving Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team honors for the spring semester announced by the organization Wednesday.

The Norwich women’s team posted a 3.32 team GPA while the men’s team registered a 3.10 GPA. The NU women’s squad was also honored in the fall semester after posting a 3.05 team GPA.
“It is great to have both the men’s and women’s teams named Scholar All-America.” Head Coach Andrew Bretscher, he added “It is truly a testament to the student-athletes we have on the team, and their drive to be the best in the classroom in addition to the pool.”

This marks the seventh time in Norwich women’s swimming and diving team history that the team has been honored (1990-91, 91-92, 92-93, 94-95, 97-98 and fall 16-17) and the second time in men’s team history (fall 1994-95).

Joel Shinofield, the CSCAA Executive Director, said “Coach Andrew Bretscher continues to produce excellent results - in and out of the pool - at Norwich. We are very fortunate to have schools like Norwich and people like President Schneider and Director of Athletics Mariano who support these exceptional student-athletes.”

More than 700 teams were honored this year, marking a new high for the organization. A team must achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher during the spring semester.
