NASHUA, N.H. - After dropping a 3-0 decision to Rivier earlier in the day, the Norwich volleyball team bounced back with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Simmons on Sunday afternoon, improving to 10-5 (5-3 GNAC) on the season. NU, which compiled a 9-21 record in its inaugural varsity campaign last year, has already surpassed last season's win total.

The see-saw match went back and forth throughout with the two teams alternating wins in the games. Ultimately, it was Norwich who ended up on top, winning the match by the scores of 30-28, 32-34, 30-18, 23-30 and 15-8.

Alicia Chamness paced NU with a team-leading 23 kills and 14 digs. Keira Holmes and Lisset Magdaleno each recorded a team-high 14 digs, while Molly Rice added a team-best 37 assists.

Norwich will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 10, when the Cadets travel to Plymouth, N.H., for a 6 p.m. match versus Plymouth State College.
