Volleyball: Emerson Blanks Norwich, 3-0

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Norwich University volleyball team lost its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 3-0 decision to Emerson in a GNAC match. The Lions had to work hard for the victory, winning by set scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-21.

Norwich (16-7, 7-5 GNAC) was led by sophomore Molly Rice, who posted 30 assists, nine digs, two service aces and two kills. Fellow sophomore Alicia Chamness registered her second double-double of the day, recording 11 kills and 17 digs.

Junior Lisset Magdaleno produced 10 kills, eight digs and two blocks. Freshman Brittany Palmer had 14 digs, three kills and two service aces, while fellow freshman April Byllaardt smacked down seven kills.

Norwich will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament, which begins next week. The Cadets' march to a GNAC title will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 4, when the Cadets travel to Boston, for a quarterfinal rematch with third-seeded Emerson. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
