Women's Cross Country: Norwich Finishes Sixth At Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Maura Kee placed 48th overall, and four other NU runners placed within the Top 100 to lead the Norwich University women's cross country team to a sixth-place showing at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday.

Kee led the Cadets to the finish line, touring the 5,000-meter course in a time of 22 minutes, 47.00 seconds. Jackie McElligott was the next Norwich harrier to cross the finish line, completing the race in 23:02 to place 53rd overall.

Heather Flavell finished 63rd overall with a time of 24:08. Joy Palmer (28:37.00) and Desislava Slovova (32:34.00) rounded out the Norwich Top 5, finishing 90th and 93rd, respectively.

Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when the Cadets travel to Castleton, Vt., participate in the Vermont State Meet.
