NORTHFIELD, Vt.—The Norwich University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held a benefit 5k race on Sunday to honor the memory of former student-athlete Frank Fox, who passed away last summer.  Fox was a student at Norwich and was a member of the men’s cross country team.

The event, which consisted of four laps around the main road on Norwich’s campus, had over 200 participants and raised just shy of $2,000 for a charity of the Fox family’s choice.

“It was great to see so many students come out on a Sunday morning to honor the memory of Fox,” said SAAC advisor Ashlynn Nuckols. “For a first-year event, I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout and support.”

The event was organized by SAAC president Caitlyn Trepess (Scotia, N.Y.), vice president Dave Pinto (Milford, Mass.), secretary Miranda Otto (Lakewood, Wash.), and communications specialist Victoria Sabel (Plainville, Conn.). SAAC representatives took turns manning the registration table in the Wise Campus center, and the committee was on-hand on race day to guide runners.
