Baseball: Lynch Earns Second Team Honors


WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior center fielder Kevin Lynch (Randolph, Mass.) earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference Second Team accolades, the league announced on Tuesday.

Lynch led the Cadets in nearly every offensive statistic this season, posting the most hits (36), runs scored (25), doubles (5), triples (4), RBI (16) stolen bases (25), walks (18) and batting average (.383). He was not caught stealing and posted a .482 on-base percentage with a .521 slugging percentage.  His 25 runs scored accounted for 23% of the Cadet offense on the season. 

Kevin collected his 100th career hit on March 12th against Geneva and concludes his career with 128 hits, 16 double and five triples.

He also appeared in all 31 games for the Cadets and recorded a .959 fielding percentage with three outfield assists, earning All-Defensive team honors as well.

This marks the third All-Conference honor for Lynch who earned Third Team accoladed in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Senior infielder Mike Lesco (Somers, Conn.) capped a stellar career in Maroon and Gold with his third consecutive selection to the All-Sportsmanship team.
