WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced their 2018 All-Academic list on Thursday afternoon, with six Cadets appearing on the rolls.
A total of 93 student-athletes were named from the eight NEWMAC football teams. To make the team, honorees must have earned a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA after the 2018 spring semester, achieved second-year academic status, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The representatives for Norwich University were the following six student-athletes;
Jacob Barr (Walpole, Mass.) - Junior, majoring in Criminal Justice
John Lemay, Jr. (Wolfeboro, N.H.) - Senior, majoring in Mechanical Engineering
Kevin Svarczkop (Essex Junction, Vt.) - Senior, majoring in Architecture
Dustin Spatz (Bernville, Pa.) - Senior, majoring in Criminal Justice
Matt Dunn (Rockland, Mass.) - Sophomore, majoring in Criminal Justice
Clyde Tamburro (Elizabethtown, Pa.) - Sophomore, majoring in Computer Security and Information Assurance
This is the second NEWMAC All-Academic honor for Barr, Lemay Jr., Svarczkopf, and Spatz while Dunn and Tamburro join the list in their first year of eligibility.
These six student-athletes and the rest of the Cadets will wrap up their regular season this Saturday at WPI, a NEWMAC game set to start at noon.
