Men’s Basketball: Norwich Collects Eighth Place In Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Norwich University men's basketball team was projected to finish eighth out of 10 teams following the 2016-17 season, according to the annual Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coaches Poll released on Monday. 

Norwich received 37 points in the poll, ranking eighth out of the 10 GNAC institutions that sponsor men's basketball. The list, voted on by the conference's head coaches, was headlined by Albertus Magnus College – the Falcons received six first-place votes and a league-leading 96 points. 

Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University received three first-place votes and 91 total points to place second while Rivier University also received a top vote, rounding out the top-three with 74 total points. Mount Ida College and Saint Joseph's College of Maine placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
