INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Ryan Booth (Northfield, Vt.) of the Norwich University men's basketball team has been selected to the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, it was announced last Wednesday. Booth will serve a two-year appointment to the national committee.
Booth will join Division III student-athletes around the nation, representing their voice in the NCAA's governance structure by reviewing legislation, identifying significant student-athlete issues, implementing national student-athlete based initiatives and encouraging community outreach.
Additionally, the committee's efforts will enhance student-athlete involvement and understanding of what being an NCAA Division III athlete stands for. Furthermore, the committee is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating the division's nationwide partnership with Special Olympics.
The committee will meet in-person four times each year in January, April, July and November, conducting teleconferences as needed.
A two-year member of the men's basketball team at Norwich, Booth has appeared in 44 games while earning 24 starts. Shooting north of 41% for his career (148-for-358), he has averaged 9.6 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per contest – last season, he led the Cadets with 5.4 rebounds per game and ranked second on the team in points per game (10.6).
