Men's Basketball: Late rally not enough as Regis defeats Norwich, 84-76

WESTON, Mass. - The Norwich University men's basketball team fell to the Regis (Mass.) Pride on Tuesday evening on the road by an 84-76 final score.

Norwich fell behind early, as Dimitri Rosa hit back-to-back three-pointers to give Regis an early advantage. Jesse Davis (Woodinville, Wash.) capped a ferocious 12-2 Norwich run to give Norwich a one-point lead midway through the first half.

The lead would go back several more times before Regis managed to build a decent lead as time wound down in the first half, and a Roger Hamel buzzer-beating three-pointer gave Regis a 44-36 advantage at the half.

Norwich chipped away throughout the second half, even managing to cut the lead to as little as three points, but timely shooting by Regis thwarted the Cadets comeback attempt and the Pride sealed up the 84-76 victory.

Jesse Davis led the Cadets with 22 points on 9-16 shooting off the bench, while Ryan Booth (Northfield, Vt.) poured in 17 points.
