BOSTON, Mass. - The Norwich University men's basketball team dropped a road Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game to the Emmanuel College Saints on Tuesday night, falling by a 96-66 final score.
The Saints jumped out to a 6-0 lead at the start of the game and never looked back, as the Cadets never held the lead during the contest. By halftime, the score was already 42-26 in Emmanuel's favor and, despite a stronger showing in the second half, Norwich never caught up and lost by a 96-66 final score.
Jesse Davis (Woodinville, Wash.) led the way offensively for the Cadets with a game-high 23 points on 8-18 shooting from the field off the bench. Ryan Booth (Northfield, Vt.) was the only other double-digit scorer for the Cadets with 13 points on the night.
The Saints shot an impressive 53.8% from the field and 57.1% from three-point territory on the night, along with outpacing the Cadets in rebounds (39-34), assists (25-12), points off of turnovers (23-10), and points in the paint (26-16).
With the loss, the Cadets fall to 10-14 overall this year with a 7-8 mark within the conference.
Norwich will look to close out regular season play on a good note this Saturday when they travel north to take on the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 3:00 PM.
