Basketball: Jeff Brown, Greg Eckman to headline second annual Norwich University Coaches Clinic on Oct. 28th

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – For the second straight year, Norwich University's basketball programs will hold their Coaches Clinic in Andrews Hall Gymnasium on Sunday, October 28th.

This year's clinic will feature a pair of local head coaches, as Jeff Brown of Middlebury College and Greg Eckman of Northern Vermont University–Johnson join Coach Paul Booth and Coach Mark Zacher as guest speakers.

Coach Jeff Brown will enter his 22nd season of coaching at Middlebury College with a 357-196 career record and six NCAA Tournament appearances during his time with the Panthers. During the 2010-11 season, Brown and the Panthers set a school record with a 28-2 record as they advanced all the way to the NCAA Final Four. Brown has won five New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017) and has lead Middlebury to nine NCAA Tournament appearances.

From NVU-Johnson, Greg Eckman will enter his seventh season with the Badgers. Eckman ranks second all-time in Johnson coaching history with 46 career victories. Norwich and Johnson have a long history in both men's and women's basketball, as the men have squared off 32 times while the women have faced each other 39 times.

Norwich women's basketball head coach Mark Zacher will join the clinic for the second straight year. The winningest coach in the program's history with 134 career victories, Zacher will enter his tenth season on the Norwich bench in 2018-19. Under Zacher's coaching, the Cadets have reached nine straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournaments and recorded 62 wins over GNAC foes.

His counterpart from the men's team, head coach Paul Booth, will also be in attendance. A two-time GNAC Coach of the Year winner (2004, 2005), Booth enters his 26th season coaching at Norwich with a program record 274 wins as the coach of the Cadets. Coach Booth led Norwich to GNAC Championships and the program's first two NCAA Tournament appearances during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

The clinic will be held in Andrews Hall Gymnasium on the campus of Norwich University from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a cost of $30 for a coach and $60 for a coaching staff. If pre-registered before October 19th, a free lunch will be included for everyone on staff.
